Mechanicsville Baptist Church strives to call and work alongside the pastoral and support staff.  Providing leadership in order to equip every member for the work of fulfilling the Great Commission is essential to the work of the church.

  • Tim Madison
    Senior Pastor

    Tim grew up in Natural Bridge, Virginia and His wife Janet was born in Kentucky and grew up in Jacksonville, Florida. Tim has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education from Virginia Tech, and has earned a Master of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry degree from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.


    Janet has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education from Stetson University and a Master of Arts Degree from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. Janet is a School Teacher in the New Kent County School System. Their son, Josh, is a Funeral Director at E. Alvin Smalls Funeral Home in Petersburg, VA, and their daughter Courtney is a School Teacher in the New Kent County School System. Tim began his ministry at MBC in August of 2009.


    Tim has also served as President of the Baptist General Association of Virginia & Moderator of the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship of Virginia. He has served in many different capacities while serving on the Virginia Baptist Mission Board.


    Tim is an avid Hokie Football Fan and enjoys spending time with his family and two dogs, Baby Girl and Lucy.

  • L. Dwight Hedges

    Minister to STudents

    Rev. Dwight Hedges has lived in Mechanicsville for fifteen years, serving in Student Ministry for over twenty years in a wide array of ministry settings. He grew up in a family of bi-vocational Baptist church planters in Parker, Colorado and has always had a passion for the local church. He received his undergraduate degree from Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar, Missouri and his Masters in Religious Education from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Kansas City, Missouri.


    Dwight has served on staff in churches in Missouri, Nebraska, and Virginia. He has a passion for youth ministry and college aged students, and a love for Jesus, discipleship, worship and missions. He has been able to mobilize and lead more than twenty international mission trips and is excited to see how the Lord will continue to move in Mechanicsville as we follow the Great Commission.


    Dwight has also worked with tan international program at Virginia Commonwealth University the last several years and is excited about receiving the call from Mechanicsville Baptist to come and serve alongside the wonderful staff and congregation.


    He is married to Gretchen Hedges who is the Operations Manager at Mechanicsville Animal Hospital and Rutland Animal Hospital, and is an LVT. They have four children: Matthew, Bryson, Ethan, and Catherine.

  • paul rozecki

    minister of music & Worship

    Originally from Gloucester, Virginia, Paul Rozecki has been involved in church music programs for over 20 years. Paul attended James Madison University where he earned the Bachelor of Music Degree in Music Education. Paul comes to MBC from New Highland Baptist Church where he served as Minister of Music for 3 years.


    Paul’s experience in church music includes that as a performer, director, administrator and leader of various ensembles. Equally adept at performing traditional and contemporary music, Paul believes the music ministry is fluid and open to anyone willing to share their talents to serve our Lord. Ensembles under his direction have performed Christmas Cantatas and musicals with choir and orchestras. Paul’s vision is for all musical ensembles at MBC to perform music that not only glorifies the Lord but brings the congregation closer to Him.


    Paul is a music educator in the Hanover County School Division. He has been a teacher for 15 years and currently serves at Atlee High School. His bands have earned numerous superior ratings at State Concert Assessments, State Marching Assessments and Music Festivals. Bands under his direction have been invited to perform in Orlando, Myrtle Beach, Nashville, Philadelphia, New York, and London. He also co-chairs the All-Virginia Jazz Ensemble and is in demand as an adjudicator in both concert and marching venues. He is an avid drill designer and has written drill for several bands in the Commonwealth.


    Paul is blessed with a supportive family. He met his beautiful wife, Lori, at his first teaching assignment in Henrico County and were married shortly thereafter. They have a son, Mason and live in beautiful Hanover County.

  • Jean Dart

    Office Administrator

    Jean came to MBC in March of 2017 and serves as our Office Administrator. She works with "all things office" for our church and enjoys providing ministerial support for our staff and church members.


    Jean has grown up in the Baptist Church and has worked with both the VA Baptist and International Mission Boards in an administrative and communications capacity.


    She loves the church and is also on staff as Minister of Music & Worship for Shalom Baptist Church in Mechanicsville, where she has served for the past 12 years.

  • linda dickerson

    organist/accompanist

    Linda joined the staff of MBC in May of 2013 as church organist and accompanist. She is a retired Music Teacher from the Hanover County School System and enjoys spending time with her family and watching her grandchildren.

  • Melvin Anderson

    Custodian

    Melvin has been the church custodian for over 20 years. He always greets everyone with a smile and is willing to do what is necessary to keep our facilities clean and in good order. In addition to serving as church custodian he also serves as custodian for the Child Care Center.
