Mechanicsville Baptist Church is involved in many ministries. These ministries are varied and numerous in order to reflect the diversity of gifts given to individual members. We are constantly praying and seeking for new ways to serve God in our community and even to the ends of the world. The following is a list of just some of the ministry opportunities each member can be involved in.

Vacation Bible School
Annually in the summer, the church ministers through Vacation Bible School. Themes change from year to year but the message remains the same. Teaching children the Bible stories is an integral part of developing each child spiritually. Volunteers provide a safe learning environment for every age. This is an inter-generational event, however, adults also have the option to attend an adult bible study class during the week of Bible School.

Men In Ministry
In cooperation with the Dover Baptist Association, our men minister to meet the needs of people needing wheelchair ramps built on to their homes. This ministry provides an opportunity to meet a growing need in our community. Each week on Monday and Friday, the men gather at the church and travel to various locations around the metro region to build ramps.
-
Caritas
One week a year, the church houses, feeds, and provides others means of support to the homeless in Richmond. Each evening, people arrive by bus and are served a meal and given an opportunity to take care of personal hygiene needs as well as interact with our church family. Each morning, they are given breakfast and a bagged lunch for the day to sustain them until they return in the evening.

Rise Against Hunger
For the past six years, Mechanicsville Baptist Church has partnered with Rise Against Hunger (formerly Stop Hunger Now) to provide packaged meals to be shipped somewhere in the world where there is a hunger crisis. Stay tuned for the date we'll have our packing party following a worship service at 11:00 AM.
-
Keenage Club
Each month, our Senior members meet to spend time with one another. A different activity is planned each month. Sometimes they travel to a favorite restaurant to enjoy a delicious meal; other times they stay at the church and play games. Several times a year, they travel to different places to see programs and shows of interest. All seniors are welcome to participate.

Library
Across the hall from the church office is the library. The library keeps and stores the history of the church and other important documents related to the church. The library also contains many different resources for study and development. Whether you are interested in studying in depth, or finding a book for light reading, the library is the place to search.
